Cordon Bleu beak - overgrown?

I got a good side view look at my new male Cordon Bleu finches beak today. The bottom beak section looks overgrown to me, yet this is a new finch type for me to keep, so I am not positive, but think this is abnormal for them? The beak is lined up normally when you look at him straight on. I have just had him a few weeks. He seem healthy otherwise. Should I leave it alone, carefully trim it, get a concrete or pedi perch, etc.?

I don't have RCCB but if i were you i would carefully trim it . All the other solutions don't seem to have quick result! Let's see what other cordon bleu breeder will tell! Good luck!

I don't have Cordons either, but if he was my bird, I'd trim his beak as well.

trim it,then get yourself some cuttlefish and that should keep it in trim

thats how my green singers beak was, except it was the top not the bottom of the beak. I used little baby nail clippers to trim it off

I caught him today and did a tiny trim with some nail clippers. The beak looks good now. I think I may try a pedi-perch now, to see if that will help keep it worn down in the future.

I have rccb's and I put a stone that is from my retaining wall and cleaned it and they sit and eat on it all the time. That and a pedi perch have kept beaks and nails trim.

One of my canaries had the problem with the upper portion of her beak which a pedi-perch fixed quickly. The RCCB that I had also had the lower portion of his beak longer but I sold him. I have one pediperch in my flight and all my other cages to take care of that problem.... Seems to work
