Unable to fly

I have 3 Bluefaced parrot finches [2 lutinos] that over a period of about 6-9 months have lost their ability to fly. They are young and thrive otherwise. No history of injury.
They hop wherever they want to go - can maybe get height of 12 inches[30 cm] and that's all.
Got them from coast with very mild temperatures and this winter was extreme but they survived.

Any ideas?? Will they come right again?

Thanks.

Are they in a cage or aviary? If they are in a cage that isn't big enough to allow them exercise they need... parrot finches have a tendancy to be overweight. Also.... I have noticed that when they molt sometimes they loose quite a bit of their flight feathers which makes flying more difficult.

I have a red headed parrot finch that lost most of his flight feathers and he can't fly yet, but he has all new pin feathers, so in a few weeks he should be fine!
Have a look at the wings, probably that's what it is?

They used to be in a cage during the extreme winter months but are now in the large aviary.
I will check their wings and see if anything wrong.
thanks for the help.
