bleeding button quail foot

hey there,
one of my button quail is crippled. i got her from a breeder who said that she was born this way. her little foot is curled up under her.

i am worried for her as her crippled foot is bleeding on the inside part where it curls up. its one of her outside toes that is bleeding if her foot worked properly. i've noticed it over the past week or two as she drags herself around so i clean her up every day to make sure that she is not covered in "you know what" . when i clean her feet and her underside with warm water, the cut opens up and blood comes off onto the paper towel.

the odd thing is that its not the outside of the crippled foot that is bleeding, its the inside part :?

can anyone recommend something that i can do for her? i have not seen her picking at her foot, but i can't be sure she is not doing it to herself. can i put ointment on it, or is it best to leave it alone?

thanks :D

Poor thing! :( I would definitely try to stop the bleeding. I always have this at hand: http://www.morningbirdproducts.com/prod ... dstop.html You can also put some neosporin on it.

If it was me and it doesn't get better, I'd try to get her to an avian vet, if you have one.
