Storing meds.

Post by Dayna » Mon Dec 26, 2011 2:01 pm

When you mix up a batch of meds (in water) for your birds can you put it in an air tight container and store the rest for future use if you don't use it all that day or should you make fresh batches daily?

Depends on the med, some will only last X many hours when mixed.

I mix each day: S76, baycox, wormaway
- S76 only lasts about 7 hours after being mixed w water.
- I mix baycox and wormaway each day because it is simple to do.

I batch mix: Ronivet, NV powder, 4-in-1
- I batch mix these because it is easier to mix larger volumes (200ml+) than small (1oz) volumes.
