Slightly stained vent female gouldian - concern or not?

One of my female gouldian finches has a bit of a poop looking stained vent area. I first noticed it about a month or so ago and so gave her Ornacycline ( tetracycline) antibotic for the 5 day course. I thoght it looked a little better after that. I am noticing it a little more again now. She continues to and has looked very healthy through this whole time, eating and acting normal other than the vent area. I had thought of giving her a little crushed up powdered human probiotic to see if that might help. She is on a seed mix, pelleted food, dried herb mix and fresh greens every few days. Has anyone had this with their finches and what worked for you?

I forgot to mention that she is with a male gouldian and he looks perfectly normal.

I had a similar problem last year and gave Metrodonizadol, which has Ronivet and Antibiotic in it (came from the avian vet). That worked well. Keep us posted.

Anne, I recommend you call ladygouldian.com
http://ladygouldian.com/
and explain her symptoms, how long it has been going on. The medication you gave her may have taken care of part of the issue for a a bit but it is presenting itself again. It can be parasites, she may recommend a medication targeted specifically for the issue.
If it is a parasite condition birds often get secondary infections with it, this why you may have seen a slight improvement in her condition.
It is best to speak with her or call or email the maker of the Ronex12% and amoxitex, Morning Bird Products....

In the mean time, keep her warm with a heat lamp and make sure she stays hydrated. Have you noticed whether she is constantly eating or in the food dish more than usual?

Thank you for your replies on my bird question so far. If it was parasites would the other bird she has been with for 4+ months also be showing symptoms by now? They both seem normal except for her stained vent area. That is what puzzles me.

Sometimes one may show it and others don't. Sometimes a otherwise healthy in appearance bird do not show signs until stressed or breeding or raising young. I would call either of the two places and see what they advise.
Is she sitting, nesting for long periods? Most times while a hen sits she holds it and expels a large dropping. If she is sitting is she soiling in the nest? Is she eating more than usual, always in the food dish?
