Do you have a quarantine process?
As a part of my qurantine process I treat for ASM, to keep it from getting into my flock. I use either S76 in the drinking water or SCATT applied directly to the bird. Caution w SCATT, as it is potent and you can easily overdose the bird.

I treat all new birds for ASM during quarantine but from everything I have read/talked to other people/IMHO I feel that gouldians should all be treated for ASM once or twice a year.

I treat any incoming bird for air sac mites (I use scatt) during quarantine only, I don't do a yearly or twice a year treatment.

I've had gouldians for over 10 years now and only once did I ever have ASM in a hen a bought. I treated her during quarantine added her to the flock and never had ASM pop-up in any of my birds in all these years.
