When do society finches molt? Is it seasonally or just once when they are young? I'm not seeing any signs of molt - I'm just curious.
Thanks!

Re: Molting question
My societies don't molt like gouldians, which drop a LOT of feathers at once, and look ratty. The societies probably molt all the time, just a few feathers at a time, so I don't really notice a molt.

Re: Molting question
Thanks Gary!
About once a week I notice a couple feathers in the bottom of the cage that houses 3 societies. All the birds are doing great and there are no signs of molting so I began to wonder if they did exactly as you described. Makes perfect sense with what I'm experiencing.

Re: Molting question
Zebras are similar, they drop feathers constantly.
