My male fawn society looks like he is have involuntary muscle spasms! He bobs his heading sideways in a jerking motion about four times in a row and stops. He is in great feather and healthy condition, could this be inherited? My other three societies do not do this?

I read it, can't find any answer thiugh. He doesn't fall off his perch, just stiffens, and bobs his head like a boken windup toy, and carries on as if nothing happened

Dante, is it almost like a snaking type of movement where the bird stands straight up stretches the neck out and wiggles it back and worth?
If it is I have seen this first hand, a friend had a clutch of hookbills with what I call a snaking motion...looked like the actions above. The birds were taken in for cultures and it was a yeast infection in the throat and crop.
Does this occur right after he eats, like he is trying to swallow and get the food down, can't and so he does this.

Cindy, not like you described. It stays completely still and its head only bobs to one side. Usually to the right, sometimes the left. Also, not stargazing. Guys I don't know what's wrong! D:

Sounds like something is misfiring in his brain, could he have flown into something? Sound like maybe a seizure, maybe from a trauma.
during a seizure the body can get ridgid and the head, legs can more involuntarily.

I can try when I get home. And he hasn't flown into anything either. Hmm
