pedialite question

Post by ac12 » Wed Feb 01, 2012 1:52 am

The pedialite bottle says only good for 24 hours once opened.
Why is that?
If I put it in the fridge, will it keep longer?

Seems a pitty to use so little and have to throw away most of the bottle.

I think that's why so many use the powdered gatorade, you mix what you need and don't have to worry about it going bad.

Gary, we were always told to toss it after 24 hours when giving it to our girls. Someone posted a while back a quick recipe to make for electrolytes. I'll see if I can find it for you.

Here it is, it is Debbie's mix...thank you Debbie!

http://www.finchforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=18044

To: 8 oz of warm water (about 103 to 105 degrees F)
Add: 1/2 Tablespoon sugar, 1/8 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon baking soda.

Mix well, can be kept in fridge for a few days.

I have a quesstion though...can raw sugar (Natrual Cane Turbinado) be used instead of white sugar?
