Found her one bottom flight cage one morning- She has been eating and drinking fine since - in the hospital cage by herself with heating pad. She looks like she can't see well. Please let me know what you think via the video - Thanks

Oh goodness, I'm not 100% sure but it looks like she is twirling? Please read this article and see if it helps you identify whether or not this is the case.
http://www.ladygouldianfinch.com/features_twirling.php
Otherwise, it looks like she definitely seems to have some neurologically damage/issues? At least in my opinion. Could she have hit her head hard against something? Good luck!! So sorry to see the poor girl in that state. Keep us posted.

Re: Something is wrong with my Yellow Gouldian
That is what she has been doing - twirling - We have her for the last six months and she seems to do fine. She might had fail down and hit her head overnight as I found her was sleeping on the bottom cage at 5AM.bugaboo5 wrote:Oh goodness, I'm not 100% sure but it looks like she is twirling? I will try the suggestion in the article. She was from Alex - In FL - Oodle - He claimed he is Alex NFSS & FBBA member .
Thanks again,

Oh, Purple.....If you are referring to the Alex that has become notorious on this board, that may possibly be where you went wrong. Let me find the thread about Alex....he has a reputation,I believe. According to Tiffany (Nixity), Alex is NOT a NFSS member. Tiffany is the director of membership for NFSS. Please know that anyone can say they are part of NFSS but in all actuality, they may not be. Some "breeders" lie that they are part of NFSS just to look good.purplejasminevn wrote: She was from Alex - In FL - Oodle - He claimed he is Alex NFSS & FBBA member .

Here is another thread by Alex (aka Alejandro). Tiffany (nixity) flat out says there's no way he is a member of NFSS. She is in charge of membership at NFSS.

The guy is a flake thats for sure. Whats weird is that Tiffany (nixity) told me back in June that he was a member and had joined in 2011.bugaboo5 wrote: Here is another thread by Alex (aka Alejandro). Tiffany (nixity) flat out says there's no way he is a member of NFSS.

Re: Something is wrong with my Yellow Gouldian
In May 2011, Tiffany (nixity), membership director for NFSS said that he was not a member of NFSS. If he joined in June 2011 (or anytime after May 2011), he joined only after he was called out publicly for advertising his "membership" for many months prior to his join. Frankly, I'll be shocked if he is a member. A lot of his principals and practices go against responsible bird-keeping.okiebirds wrote:The guy is a flake thats for sure. Re: Something is wrong with my Yellow Gouldian
To the OP:
It does indeed look like the beginning of twirling. If I were you, I would line the cage with towels and lower the perches to prevent her from falling and hurting herself on anything. I would add some vitamins / minerals to some eggfood as well as add some vitalize or electrolyte mix to the water. After that, I would keep away from the cage for a while to prevent you from startling her. There are some medicines you can get in the event that it's an ear infection, but most of the time that's not the case. Hope she snaps out of it!

I would call Larraine from ladygouldian.com and ask her for advice. She is very knowledgeable and may be able to help. The hen seems to have something neurological or twirling, which sometimes can be treated. Keep us posted.

I placed all supplement/medication needed from Ladygouldian over the weekend - they are on the way via UPS. Hopefully they arrive any day this week.finchmix22 wrote:I would call Larraine from ladygouldian.com and ask her for advice. She is very knowledgeable and may be able to help. The bird has been doing a little better than few days ago. She has been in hospital cage since with heating pad no perch.... She has been eating and drinking well.
I will keep you all updated about her.
Thank you all for your wonderful advice and compassion

Re: Something is wrong with my Yellow Gouldian
With respect to his membership status: He joined for the first time last year but has since expired and has NOT renewed.
The confusion over whether or not he was a member last year came from the fact that he often advertises himself out of Miami and as "Alex."
He refused to provide his last name or his membership number when this topic came up. It was AFTER OkieBirds or someone else contacted me with his actual first and last name that I was able to locate him.
I found it strange that he was so unwilling to provide his info to prove his membership. I can only assume it was because he didn't want anyone having his actual contact info since he was selling total garbage to everyone.
For example:
http://www.hoobly.com/0/0/1995867.html
He's selling a muted Dilute as a Pied.. I see no indication in this photo of this bird being pied.
Granted, even if it's just a Dilute/Blue that's not a bad price but regardless, he has nonexistent ethics.
