"Dislocated" Gouldian wing FEATHER - should I be worried?

Hi everyone,

My Gouldian male has a wing feather that appears "dislocated" - it's turned around and won't fall back into place. It's been like this for 3 days.

He's still healthy and acting fine, but he knows something's off because he keeps trying to shake it into place.

I took him out to investigate yesterday and from what I can see, it's still firmly in the skin, but turned around, with no hope of going back to normal.

I'm a little worried that it might cause an infection if the skin is tugged at the base..?

Any ideas..? should I just let it be?

(btw he's not showing any signs of moulting)

He's the red head in the picture below.

Thanks!

As long as the feather is not bleeding (and I don't think it is) and he is acting, eating and drinking as normal - I wouldn't worry about it. It will pop out soon or go back into position when he preens it.

Great!
Thank you!
I wasn't looking forward to "fixing" it!
I'll let him take care of it.
