Aloe & Water

Curious, do any of you spray your birds with Aloe and water? I've read it helps them if they get itchy.

Never heard of spraying the whole bird, know an old timer that would use aloe on the legs of older birds dropping them getting dry and getting scale mite but never tried it and can't even say it will work but he reckons he never has an issue with it after doing this.
