The air cleaner I have in my bird room is getting old and has a filter than I having trouble finding a replacement for. Does anyone have advice for an air cleaner for a small room?

I would just go to CostCo or similar discount place and pick up a HEPA filter. If you can get the one that uses a washable filter that is better as you don't have the cost of replacement filters every year.

I have two air purifiers in my house. I bought at Target; one is made by Holmes and the other by Honeywell. Both are "HEPA" type filters. They do a real nice job.

Whaterver you buy make sure it doesn't produce Ozone as some do to help make the air smell "fresh". This type can be harmfull to birds.

Good Luck!

It's amazing the dust and dander birds produce. I run five air purifiers 24/7 and I still have to deal with quite a bit of dust.

I currently have the following five running simultaneously:

GE HEPA 106653 Air Purifier
3M Office Air Cleaner
Ionic Pro Turbo TA500 ‑ Air Purifier
Oreck XL Tower Professional Air Purifier
Holmes HAP424-U Air Purifier

I have a sixth air purifier, but I'm not currently running it.

Of these five, I would say the GE and the 3M do the best work. The Oreck is the most expensive, but I would rate it's performance as "just good" with GE an 3M doing "excellent" work.

Does anybody have any experience with an Austin Air Pet Machine? A friend recommended that kind, and apparently it is expensive.
