Zebra finch missing feathers around vent?
Hi, my male zebra finch Topper is missing feathers around his vent. What could be causing his feather lose? I never noticed it before and I watch them throughout the day. Here are a few pictures. The pictures aren't the best. Thank you.

is he nesting at all? my hen and cock will pluck their vent feathers when nesting, the feathers are not used much for warmpth so they use it for nesting

Yeah he's been working on the nest for a week or more. The female has all her vent feathers. I have another pair and both male and female are missing feathers on their vents. I don't see any feathers in their nest though but maybe they hid them good.
