This morning, my owl hen was startled and flew out of their tube nest and hit the side of the cage. Then dropped/flew to the ground, landing with her wings up in a weird pose. She has been sitting on the cage floor ever since. I did open the door, once to see if she would/could move. She flew very awkwardly and was not able to land on the perch. She dropped back to the floor immediately.
I don't see any blood

She just laid what looks to be a broken egg.
She is fluffy and not moving from the spot on the cage floor.
What can I do?

How is she now with the heatlamp and having passed the egg?

One of my zebras on was on the bottom of the cage when I put the tray back in and I didnt see him. I pushed the tray in very hard because it wouldn't go in.. (I didnt see him) then I couldn't find him! I moved the newspaper and saw him through the tray. I hurrried and got him out but he looked squished and dying so I left him there to die in peace, I came back and he was perfectly fine flying around like it had never happened!
I hope the same for your owl will happen and she will be okay.

I find owls seem to shock easy. She may have been trying to lay the eggs and was in pain, could that have caused her to fall like that? Hpefully she is ok.

Not sure if she continues to look off if a drop or two of calcium would help or not....

Nelissa, I would want to know if the entire egg came out - don't know how broken it was - might some still be stuck in her? Also, is there yolk on her? If you don't have it already, put some heat on her. She may well be shocky - was probably ready or partway through laying the egg when startled out of the nest.

If she has yolk on her, she may need washing later on - and possibly an antibiotic later, too. For now, I would keep her warm until she seems to recover somewhat.

It's all I would know to do. I hope someone is here who might know more...

She seems to be doing much better now. She has been resting with her mate throughout the day, but is able to perch and fly, and does not look to be in any pain. She is eating and drinking. Not using the heat lamp any more, but is spending a lot of time cuddling in the nest.
She has bathed, and her vent seems clean now.
When she laid the egg, it was broken, but I don't know if it was before or after she laid. I can't be sure , but it looked like an entire egg, which they ate.
Should I give her antibiotics as a preventive measure? I have Amoxitex and Tetratex on hand.

Phew! Sounds like a crisis averted! The antibiotics would be a personal opinion. Mine would be that she is doing really well and seems to be continuing to improve. Antibiotics would be prophylactic and I would not do it. I'd wait to be sure she continues to get better, but others may have other opinions.

I would also review the calcium sources available to them and ensure they have a good variety available - ie. eggshells, oyster shell, cuttlebone...
