GS is plucking his own feathers... What do I do?

2 weeks ago I noticed that a few yellow feathers were missing on his chest. I looked today and things seem to be getting worse. He's got 2 feathers missing from the back of his wings, almost all the yellow has been plucked from his chest just leaving a patch of grey feathers...
I dont know what's going on. He's never acted like this before.
Now, I do have a new finch, his little sister who has her own cage set up next to his. I have her in her own cage until I sell her. Could this be the cause for this behaviour?

A green singer. Sorry, should've specified.

Sounds like he may view his sister as a potential mate I would presume he is plucking himself to use his feathers as nesting material. I think if you can move little sister out of his sight and hearing, he may settle down. Do keep us posted on how things progress.

Will do. Thank you! I'll try that and see what happens.
