Winter is coming!

Hello! Winter is coming, everyone prepared?! ^_^

I have two Java Sparrows, both female. As winter is coming, I've provided them with a heater in their cage. They seem to be healthy and happy in every way, but I've noticed they've become a bit less active than usually- they seem to sleep a lot more than they had been, randomly.

I live in Japan and it's just as cold here as anywhere, but there's no central heat. I've a heating unit like an AC but it's so drying and damaging to my sinuses that I can't really use it, and because of the sheer price of using it, I could NEVER leave it on all the time, or when I'm not home, for example. So, it's quite cold in my apartment.

I think, like any other animal, they're a little sluggish because of the cold. They seem totally fine otherwise- any ideas?

Other then offering them extra heat I would add more oil seeds like sunflower, niger etc.
best of luck

Oh, let me just mention, they're not in the cage when this is happening- I have them out and about MOST of the time, so what I mean is, they romp around like crazies as usual but take more nap breaks, or get comfortable and sleep for a little longer than usual. They seem to be mirroring me since I bought them; when I'm active, they sorta jump around too, but when I lay down, they calm down too, though now more so. It's winter, so I'm laying under my heated table a lot- perhaps they're just in sync?

Also, the longer naps seem to occur mostly in the evening, but not exclusively. The heat's in their cage, but outside the cage my apartment is cold!
