Help...ok new bird mom and worried about my lil lady zebra. This morning she flew into the netting that encloses their space and then freaked out big time, which she then flew into the wall, glass, and ??? like she's goofy. So caught her and put her in a cage that is in the enclosure so she's not alone per say. But what or why would she do this? Like she just went berserk...
Now she's acting ok but am afraid to let her back into the general population, felt like she should rest in the "bird hospital" today.
also my other lady zebra is upset big time as this is her buddy! and all puffed up, sad looking, not her self imo.
ideas?
thank you!!!

Once she ran into the netting, she just panicked. Those of us who keep our finches in cages see them do this often, sometimes at the slightest thing. In a large aviary, I'm sure it happens seldom.

I think you're too worried. Be easy. Every animal can and will get spooked by nothing. Just remember...be easy. Part of a personality is having odd quirks. Like some humans are chill and some are nervous..same with birdies.

I am trying too hard to make them comfortable...But she was acting so goofy then snapped out of it and seems fine. I got to admit when I put her in the small cage the opthers were acting worried about her and I htink it stressed the entire group...lol Am learning here....they are just so fun to watch I hate to htunk i am hurting them some how ya know. The entire family has fallen in love with the lil group as well.

The finches will def be worried about birds that are stressed. If the other birds are not reacting negatively towards your tweaking bird then I wouldn't worry.
Lots of luck and I'm glad your family is happy with them.
