Baby Society not using his feet properly

His toes are all curled in, not grabbing the perch, but he is still on the perch...he just sits there on the toes and not using them to grip.
I was wondering if this is a baby thing (since he is just starting to perch today) or is he probably going to remain this way.
What do you guys think?

I have never had fledglings, so I don't have any info for you...but there are many experts on the forum who will be able to help you. Just know that birds are incredible little creatures and adapt to many things, including physical handicaps. I have a society finch with a completely non-functional foot and you would never know it by watching him fly, dance and sing. Best of luck to you and you sweet little baby.

Straight out of the nest they should be able to perch and use their toes.
I have heard of this once before and believe there were posts about it here. If memory serves me correctly they made little shoes for the bird holding the toes in the right position. Can't remember the outcome though.
good luck
