Zebra Finch - Outside - Minimum Temperature?

I'm trying to understand the temperature that my zebra finches can handle.
Can they handle temperatures down to 30 degrees F in outdoor aviary? There are opportunities to nest in the aviary.
I've always kept them above 60 degrees indoors. I'm considering giving two of our birds to someone with an outdoor aviary because we can't handle multiple cages. Would be great for the birds to live with other birds but I am concerned about the zebra finches living outdoors in temperatures down to 30 degrees F.

Wish I could help. I know of some finch owners who let their finches out in the winter, but I don't know which ones can tolerate it. I'm sure someone will answer you soon (but it really does seem too cold to me, I am not an expert though) Good luck

I have read that outdoor aviaries must have an indoor sheltered area for the birds to access when needed. This allows them to live in the aviary throughout the year.

30 degrees is to cold for zebras to be outside without proper shelter from cold winds, ran and snow. They should also have a heat source to go to in the covered shelter.

My buddy has an outdoor aviary. He has birds in it year about.
Arthur, Ontario, Canada
We get down to -30.
He tarps the outdoor portion.. There is an indoor portion. I believe it has a light bulb or two. The birds spend most of their time indoors, but it's not heated.
Now, that said, the birds acclimate steadily. They're in there year about. He doesn't buy birds and put them in there in the middle of the winter.
The budgies raised chicks straight through the winter.

Thanks all for the responses. The potential aviary does have a covered area to get into but it's not completely enclosed or heated. I think I need to keep looking for a good home for my little friends.

If acclimated correctly zebras can handle colder weather. They would benefit from a heat lamp in the enclosed portion and tarps to cover the exposed areas during colder months.
