Very, very bad news....

Post by DanteD716 » Sat Jul 06, 2013 5:04 pm

Well, I haven't been home in three days, and my brother had been taking care of the birds (he always takes good care of them and even gives them fresh water several times a day ) Well he called me just now to say 4 birds dyed this morning... /: my pair of BB fawn isabels, and a pair of FF/isabels :( he its not sure what happened but he said he had been feeding them .. Ugh just really upsetting :(

Will you take them for a necropsy? So strange that 4 died so close together. Maybe they were already sick when you purchased them...

So sorry Dante...could it be something they were exposed to all at once, 4 down like that sounds like something environmental.

Thanks guys... Honestly not sure what it coulde have been.. All 8 birds were in the exact same environment. All the same... Set up, food, water source... Everything. And 2 pairs dead.. Strange that pairs died... My brother said the room was hott so I told him to put a fan on them... But I don't think it was the heat. Im honestly not even sure of what could it possibly could have been

Dante, it could be heat stroke or if the fan was directly on them it could be the draft. So very sorry again.

So very, very sorry. :(
Your brother must feel terrible too.

Just a thought - maybe they all took a bath, and then chilled from the fan?
Or, they had some sort of disease or condition when you got them?
These little guys can go down SO fast.

Cindy, he put the fan on after he found them dead. I'm sure heat stroke iss possible , just strange that two pairs both had hest strokes. Well this kind of stuff does happen, I'm just upset because these were great birds & it will be hard to find more of these mutations to start my breeding program.

And thanks everybody fire your condolences, I appreciate it :)
