i had a white zebra finch pair given me , she is only 6-12months olds, but she seems not to good, the male is lively chirping and flying about.
I have separated the pair for a week now. The female is not off her food doesn't drink much water or bathe. But has a lively spirts now and again but apart from that spends alot of time on the floor of the cage.
Her vent is matted and loose droppings. Her eyes are not always wide as they should be.
I thought she was egg bound at first and gave her cuttle fish, calcium drops and vitamin drops in her water and mineral block in the cage. But had no success. I have bought a heat lamp how do i use it to suit the finch do you put it on just the day or just the night or all day?
Any help with the health will be helpful.

Aim the heat lamp so she can be under it or away from it as she wishes. possible Coccidia or other infection. If possible check with vet.I would leave it on around the clock if she looks like she's using it.

I'm going through the same issues with my gouldian. I just ordered two medications from ladygouldian so hoping it gets here in time. I'm also using the heat lamp. Good luck to you.

Go to ladygouldian.com you can email her pictures of the bird, pitures of the vent and drpponing. Include if she feels thin in the breast, does her breast bone feel sharp almost like a "v". Describe as you did here how she is behaving. You can follow it up with a call to her.

Put the water and food down low near her and use the heat lamp as suggested...on one side of the cage near where she is sitting.
