Garlic in drinking water ?

Hi guys ,

This is something I have heard some birdkeepers mention but never asked how .
A canary colleague mentioned he gives it once a week in their water as a general tonic ?
Sounds good but reckon I would need to be very careful with the administration of same .
My main question is this , How do you put garlic in their water , does it need to be crushed , pulped or added whole ( clove ) ,
Would expect it to help with cleansing the digestive system and as a little pick me up .

Does anyone use garlic in their bird's diet/nutrition/feeding regime ?

Any feedback much appreciated , regards and thanks , Mick M.

I have added garlic to my dogs food (whenever I had dogs)

The garlic slowly builds up in the dogs blood giving it an wanted taste to fleas and ticks... could let them go outside and always came back in clean ... of pests that is lol

Plus it did their heart good... everyone could use a little more garlic... that's what mouthwash was invented for.

As far as birds I wouldn't know the dosing but I believe it could be a good benefit to against parasites and general health. You could probably take a small piece of garlic and shove it in a water bottle and keep it in the fridge overnight and then use that... I would be merely guessing tho...
