Help!

I friend of mine rescued a finch yesterday after it flew into a window at her work.

I am after some advice as to what it is and whether its Male / Female, Old / Young.

It may have a slight injury on the back of its neck as it seems to have lost some feathers there.

I now have it in a spare cage and it seems to be eating well. Not sure how long it was in the wild (its been pretty chilly in the uk the last couple of nights)

This is a picture of him/her

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Looks to me like a female zebra finch, although I'm not a finch expert, but I'm pretty sure it would be... especially if it has little lines on its tail feathers...

I'm not sure how old it would be though... good luck with her I'm glad she's a bit happier now that she's not flying wild anymore... :-)

I agree... a Zebra hen. I wouldn't worry about the missing feathers as they have a tendency to pluck each others feathers while grooming.

She's lucky to be alive.
