Is my finch dying?

I have two orange cheek waxbills that are normally very active and jumpy. Just a few minutes ago one of them sat on a perch and now will not move. Even if I bring my hand close. Eyes are closed. It ignores everything. This a very young bird that seemed healthy even earlier today . . . but these are the sign aren't they?

Oh my!!! I'm so sorry for your loss. :(
Are these birds new to you? Do they die within days of getting them?

so very sorry, can you tell us if you are getting them from the same place?

Use candles, Teflon, air fresheners, perfume...maybe we can help you figure out why this keeps happening.

I've had zebras for a couple months. I lost three inexplicably and we discussed it at length here http://www.finchforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=26876
I thought the trouble had passed. I bought a new male zebra and moved them to new cage. At the same time I bought two orange cheeks . This was about a week ago. I moved them to a big cage about two days ago.

Are you using water dishes or water bottles?

So sorry. There must be something there that gets them sick. I'd really review all possible airborne and environmental dangers and/ or consult an avian vet.

Really sorry to hear this.

I had a zebra finch die on Friday in the same circumstances.

Was it male or female?

I just feel I've completely exhausted the topic in my linked post.

I use water dishes.

I lost 2 male Zebras and one Female

I don't know the sex of the Waxbill

Any suggestions on what I should do with the other waxbill? It is now in a large cage alone. I don't want to house it with the Zebras as a couple of them are fairly aggressive

I really wish I could tell you what's wrong. My best guess would be something environmental that they are exposed to. Just to cover all bases If you don't already have a Carbon monoxide detector I would invest in one.
Best of luck, wish I could do more
