My cat got my canary, Woodstock , broke his leg and bit him on friday, i took him to the vet yesterday they couldnt do much cause i only had 100$ so they didnt do anything besides give me at home anti biotics and anti inflammatory. The vet said hes doing good despite condition, my cats saliva didnt seem to affect him?
hes made it pretty solid, has remained calm, eating and drinking well, just really imbalanced and dragging left leg.
His foot started swelling/bleeding last night, and today two of his toes are blackeningD:
I let him soak in warm water for a couple min and then put him in betadine, let him dry a bit warmly and went on to splinting his leg. I put small soft cotton pad around his leg and taped it as best as i could and his leg just sticks out and looks really uncomfortable. Two of the toes as i sad are blackening some in middle of foot, i cant afford vet amputation, would i need to amputate them? He can only drag his leg do you think his gimp will become walk able? Would it be at all better to ampuyate whole leg at fracture site and how to bandage/prevent infection?
Any feedback would be greatly aappreciated
UPDATE:
His feet are actually darastically less swollen and only the tips and nails of the blackened toes are black! It mustv been his circulation, possibly meaning his splint mighy be doing him good?
