Sooooooo.... I getting this injured zebra finch.

I am ANGRY with my manager, she just wanted to euthanize this lovely little pied zebra finch gall. Her cage mates beat her badly, she holds her wing out funny and is missing a few feathers. I do not think her wing is broken, I have seen her fly and perch, but she promptly lands back on the cage floor. I am bringing her home tomorrow, any advice?

lots of perches to help her climb instead of fly while she heals. Can you feel any swelling? Not much you can really do but keep her calm and alone (so no more injuries) and let time and a good diet to the trick. If it isn't broken she should recover pretty quick. If it is broken you can normal feel that pretty easy.

I can't touch her untill she's mine. Would a social finch cage mate buff her? She's rather lonely, she calls for the others. Or could I just put her near my current zebras? I want to give her a second chance, I begged my manage not to put her down yet... Finches are rarely treated here.

Put her in a cage near but not touching your other birds (I"m assuming you'll still do a quarintine of some sort on her) Sometimes birds will reject others that are injured and attack them so I wouldn't chance it. I have an injured male in a cage by himself and he's doing o.k.,that way. His cage mate beat him bloody and he's lost a lot of feathers along his neck. But he's eating and calling and BAR as they say in the animal science vet med field (bright, alert and reactive) I have him next to a pair of his siblings and he seem to be doing fine. And I'd remember to always handle her LAST just in case.

Thanks so much for the advice. I just couldn't leave her to that, I'll have to get her a mate if she lives, she's a lovely pied.

I hope this wee one makes a full recovery. I'll second the idea of keeing her seperate from others. She will need some rest, good food And quiet time to come around.

As to your manager...

At least she's letting you bring her home, some places wouldn't have allowed that.

In the pet shop that I usually go to, if there is a pet that has a bit of a physical limitation, they sell it cheaper and let the customer know about the problem beforehand. That's how I got my little Gimpy last week for 25% off.

Gotta watch 'lethargic', might be sick with something.

Goodluck with both girls, and keep us posted as to how they are getting along.

They are boath doing okay. Gimpy is flying to food and perching. Little lethargic one I had to give food and water on the cage floor, but she's eating and drinking well. They boath devoured all the mullet I gave them. I'm gonna have to stock back up, these new birds are eating me out of the house!
