Sneezing?

Dingo has been making what I think sneezing sounds? Not all the time, but here and there throughout the day. Maybe a few sneezes in a row, then nothing for awhile. Taz has not. What's up with this? They both also seem to ruffle their feathers quite a bit, acting as if they've just taken a bath, but have not. Preening and such. Is this a normal thing for gouldins?

It's hard to say exactly what it could be. I would see how they react to a heat lamp and a drop of Scatt the birds in contact. If you see no improvements in a week or so, I would consider treating for a respiratory infection.

Okay, after trying to locate SCATT locally, ( which I never did) and having an on going very serious family medical issue on top of Harley passing, one of the finches, sneezing, with labored open mouth breathing I am stressed to the max! I obtained SCATT, and applied. How long before I see any improvements so I know if it's working for him? I reapply very 21 days for 3 applications is this correct? I know I'm a terrible mommy, I would have done this much sooner, but have had some real issues lately.

Yes, SCATT is one of those products that must be ordered online, or it can sometimes be found at marts for sale by a vendor. The life cycle of air sac mites is 14-21 days, and SCATT is effective for 21 days, so one application is normally enough. You can apply a second dose 21 days after the first, but I don't think three doses would be necessary.

You may be thinking of S76, which is added to the water for two days every week for three weeks. And you're not a terrible mommy, we all have life issues from time to time that take precedence.

I used SCATT yesterday and today, no sneezing! I am amazed! Does it actually work that quickly?
