Watery Droppings

Ares, my pied fawn zebra isn't really acting like himself. I noticed it last night after work when I did my check and gave them their greens. He's not fluffed up but he's not as active as normal. He looks tired and he seems to be grooming a lot. I was thinking he was ichy? Not sure so I treated him and his wife with AIL and their cage. She's fine but he's still kinda tired this morning and I noticed his droppings are a bit watery. Not sure if the watery droppings is from something or if it's from the greens. I usually give them the leafy parts of the lettuce but Thursday all I had left was the part near the base with more water. He's eating normal and still felt well enough to tell me off when I came near the cage.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Try giving a basic seed diet for a few days to see if it corrects itself. You can add a bit of probiotics to the water also. Feeding hg water content veggies like the end large vein (bottom portion) of the romaine (that is full of water, top dark green section s fine for them), iceberg lettuce, watermelon, cucumber can loosen the droppings, it does not give them diarrhea. I would also add a heat lamp to the cage to see it that helps, if not improved then you need to explore if there is something more going on.

Agreed with
cindy.
The probiotics are a wonderful idea.
I too have found that lots of high-water veggies can make for noticeably softer droppings, but as Cindy said, not diarrhea.
You mentioned you treated with something. Could that have caused the abnormal stools? Some medications can alter their poops, especially if they don't react well to it. I've never used AIL, so I'm not sure if this could be the case. But something to look into; perhaps a side effect?

I agree with Mia and Cindy. Let us know how he does.

He was much better yesterday. Thinking it was the veggies because two other birds had it but it cleared up when I just gave them egg food for a day.
