Female Zebra Finch not able to fly?
My CFW female zeb cannot fly well due to her flight feathers not smooth. When i looked at them the were against the quill as if it was soaked in water and not so long ago she was dirty not pure white.

Does her vent ( bottom) look dirty or wet? Is she eating and drinking alright or is she lethargic and seems to be less active? Is she fluffed up? If you think she is stressed or sick, put a heat bulb or regular bulb above one end of her cage with a perch underneath, so she can stay warm and not use all her energy to keep warm. Make sure there is a place to get away from the heat, in case she gets too hot. If she is not sick, but fell in the water? Got too wet during a bath? I'm not sure. If you can post pics it would help.

Her Vent is normal and shes eating and drinking as normal ( millit, seeds eggfood) Shes never fluffed up and she does be running around on the ground until her chicks fly up then she'll climb up the perch ladder i made. Shes in a flight cage in a shed and the shed is always warm and there hasnt been a bath on the ground in ages as i spray them. It all began to happen when she was raising a clutch of 3 about a month ago, shes beginning to look better but her feathers still arnt right. Ill take a few pics today and upload them later.

I would not put vitamins in the water since that may keep them from drinking. I'd let her have a bath, rather than spraying water, so she can clean off the vent. I can't tell from the pic if the vent is yellowed from droppings or not, as it's blurry. If her vent is wet or discolored, you probably need to treat the finches with Ronex 12% for five days since they are in a shed, which can have moisture etc. I still would put a heat bulb on one side of her flight, over a perch to help her stay warm if she needs it. Birds will use their energy to keep warm, even if we think it's warm enough, they expend more energy to stay warm when ill.

I forgot to ask, what other birds do you have in the flight with the zebra? She is missing some feathers and may be being picked on or her mate may be trying to pull her feathers for nesting material. She can't fly because of the missing portions of her feathers. Give her some eggfood to help her grow back the feathers. Also, check for mites or treat for them if have not done that before. Again, in a shed, they are exposed to more parasites and illnesses.

Ill do what you said and there was her mate and three chicks who are weaned. I used johnson anti mite spray the last while but may get ivectimin for finches. Her droppings always drop onto the floor when I watched her.
