Does anyone have any experience of these, my flock is growing and due to my birdroom being a spare bedroom i'm planning on getting an air purifier to reduce the dander.

After doing research the model i'm thinking about is a heaven fresh HF380 similar to this

Does anyone have any suggestions, advice or experience with these

I personally stay away from any purifiers that have ionization.

This is the kind I have. (I have two.) One I bought new for around $100 in the store, and the other I found at Goodwill, and in really good shape too, for about $7. : http://www.target.com/p/honeywell-true- ... Mgod3FgApw

I think the main thing you want to look for is a HEPA filter that can be vacuumed. You can get a good one without having to pay $300. I suppose the main differences that might matter to some people are how loud it is, how much of a breeze/draft it makes, and whether you can direct the air flow so it doesn't blow directly into your cages. And some can be programmable.

I completely agree with Finnie...stay away from ionization. I have this one in my bird room. I vacuum the outer filter and the HEPA filter too. It comes in different sizes. I have CRAZY allergies, so we have 3 large ones in our home. I think the one Finnie posted is a much better bang for your buck.

We used to have the ionizing ones years ago and it made us all weirdly ill.

That's odd on the ionic ones.
I have that Ionic breeze thing in my bedroom (though I rarely use it as it makes an annoying snapping sound.)

I've never used an air purifier in my bird room.
My HVAC system keeps the air really fresh and it's an internal room so there's no pollen and other stuff from open windows.
And I clean daily so there's no odor.
