Baby zebra finch

We have 3 baby finches who recently came out of the nest. Two are fine; they look healthy. The other baby is much smaller (we think he came out of the nest too early). But he's staying on the bottom of the cage (a parent will come and stay with him but for the most part, he's down there by himself, just hopping along and constantly looking at everyone else). He looks like he's having trouble flying; he'll start to but can't get enough "oompf" to get up to a perch.

Is there anything I can do to help him?

I've got into the habit now of putting a spare nestbox on the flight floor if and when young fledglings leave the nest.If they have difficulty reaching the perches for a day or two they have somewhere to feel secure.

In your case with the chick being in a cage...provided it is warm... I wouldn't think it will come to any harm.
If the parents are feeding it,it should soon catch up with the others.
Try putting a couple of temporary perches in diagonally from the floor up. So it can work it's way up to the other birds using it's feet until it can fly properly..
