Is worming something that people do as a routine prevention, or only when there is a reason to worm? I've not ever treated for worms, but in placing an order for some egg food, I ordered some liquid worming medication just to have on hand.

Is this harmful to chicks? I bought the Morning Bird liquid.

I worm during quarantine

My birds are all indoors, so I only worm during quarantine. I think some with outdoor aviaries worm on a regular basis, especially if the roof is not 100% covered, since the wild birds can then poop into the aviary.

Good question. I have not wormed my birds either. I have an outdoor aviary that is covered, but I thought you were supposed to worm if the birds have access to live food on the ground or if you feed live mealworms, termites or something similar. I was thinking of getting some worm med to give to the outdoor birds. Should I do this?

Like Jenny, I have an outdoor aviary and have not dewormed my birds. How often should I do it? And what's the best medication/method?
