Probiotics For Finches

Is there a standard length of time that probiotics should be given to finches after they've finished a course of antibiotics?
I got the powdered form of probiotics from MorningBird and the instructions explain how much to mix with what amount of water, but they don't say for how many days it should be given to the birds

My understanding when giving probiotics after a course of medication is that you give probiotics for the same period of time that you gave the medication, so 5 days of medication would call for 5 days of probiotics (at a minimum).

Sally's got it right!
I'll even give a bit longer for birds who've been really sick and/or birds who've had a gastrointestinal element to their illness.
Probiotics are great because you can't overdo it. They're always beneficial. I give them 2 days a week to my flock (or 4 days a week to anyone who's especially young or old.)

I was wondering about giving Kele probiotics since she was on antibiotics when she first came home. What brand y'all use and how do you give them?

I use the one from Morning Bird. It comes powdered, in different quantities.
This is the only one I've tried so I don't know how it compares to any other brands that may be available.
The "recipe" is 1/4 teaspoon to one quart of water for this particular brand.
It also says you can mix it in with fruits/veggies or softwood.
And as I just learned, you provide it for as many days as your birds were on medication
(the instructions on the container don't specify that). Hope that helps
Others on here probably have experience with other brands.

Here's the link to Morning Bird's website:
http://www.morningbirdproducts.com/
There are other online retailers that carry Morning Bird products, but this site gives free shipping if you order $25 or more
