My little "Spot" is sick

I have 3 Lady Gouldian finches and 3 Society finches, everything was fine until we noticed that the Society called Spot had something like a bump in his head when we looked at it, it looked like a blister with some feathers missing in that same place, a few days later we noticed that the same kind of "blisters" were already on de side of the bird, under the wings and moving toward his back end. We took him to the vet and she prescribed antibiotics which we are administering every day every 24 hours, but so far there seems to be almost the same. We don't want to loose this beautiful little friend. Please if you know what kind of illnes this is and if you know what to do to make him better. I will greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Your vet will undoubtably do their best although many are not very clued up on birds.
I'm afraid with finches sometimes an illness is hard to cure they being so tiny.I'm afraid part of finch keeping is losing one now and then. One of my Hecks grassfinches was dead this morning...nice bird but she was about 5 years old...they don't live for ever.
Good luck.
Paul.

Sorry for your loss Paul. I also lost a Strawberry finch today.
I have no idea how old it was since I bought it from a pet store.
But you always feel sad when you loose one.

Oh, my, another loss. As you said, Paul, it comes with having finches, but you always hate it when it happens.

Yes, as tiny as they are, they sure seem to have us wrapped around their little flight feathers!
How is your "Spot" doing today, Ladori?

Hi L in Ontario
He is no better, rather is worse, he is a young bird, all our other finches we have are much older more or less between 5 and 7 years and doing fine so far. So I don't know what else to do, the vet does not know either. Thank you for asking

Sorry to hear he's not improving with the anitbiotics. Can you post a pic of him and his 'bump'?
Was the vet able to diagnos what the 'bump' is?

Hello L in Ontario, today I am a little more cheerful, Spot is a little better, he is eating and seems to feel more lively. I am so happy, it is still possible that he will be fine........I hope so, he is so beautiful !! I would hate losing him.
