Gouldian sickness, please help

Post by SavannaRose » Wed Feb 03, 2016 12:25 pm

Hi, I've noticed some things with my gouldians and just want to make sure they're okay. Right now I have my males and females separated in two flight cages. One minute they will look perfectly fine and the next they look unhealthy. Ive seen a few that tend to droop their wings and some that tuck their head in their feathers. Another weird thing ive seen in a few particular finches is, when the go to poop they stick their tail up and bob their body up and down, doesn't seem normal.
If anyone has any idea as to what the problem may be, please let me know. Thank you.

Without photos or a video, it is hard to be sure, but what you are describing sounds normal to me. Birds will often tuck their heads under their wings to sleep, some birds/species more than others. Tail in the air and bobbing are also normal actions when pooping.
