Goldenfeast Australian Blend question

Post by zeenie » Thu Feb 04, 2016 4:28 am

Is there a danger to grinding up Australian Blend so that it can be more easily ate?
Can this be dangerous and do the ingredients need to stay seperate?
As a example, it has spinach in it so if you chopped it and mixed it up and gave it as a only food would the birds become poisoned by too much tannins from too much spinach?

Just a few highlights of the 40 plus ingredients are Spirulina, a type of blue green algae that helps build bacterial resistance and offers serious nutrition as well as probiotics to help support your birds digestive and immune function.
Australian blend has a plethora of healthy fruits, herbs, spices and vegetables plus Bee Pollen, Quinoa and so much more. All the ingredients are specialty formulated to support the long life of your bird. Australian Blend can also be fed to Finches, Parrotlets and Conures!

It sounds wonderful, almost makes me want a bowl of it for breakfast, lol.

My question now, is why you would you want to grind it up?
It sounds like a great diet as is.

As in regards to the spinach content:
It's listed way down among the ingredients, so personally I don't think it's something to worry about. All of my guys, eat fresh baby spinach on a regular basis without any problems.

Found a picture of it and some of those pieces do look rather large. I don't see a problem grinding it up and may actually help your birds eat more of it.
Spinach now and then will not hurt your birds, everything in moderation. If your concerned about too much just don't give them any extra and let the Australian Blend be their source.
good luck

Some of them are yes!
That is why I want to grind it more.
So they eat more of it.
I give it to the finches but they leave some of those big pieces.

I use this product and love it, the birds do seem to manage it well, very little is left....I do not give it daily since their primary source/staple foods are seed and pellets. I have finches and grasskeets and a conure. You can serve it two or three days a week rotating it the days with veggies. I even mix it in dried egg foods.

Unused portions in the bag or jar need to be kept in the fridge once opened due to the probiotics in it.

Goldenfeast has come out with more products.... I am very pleased with them.

I did want to add that I went away for two weeks in Alaska and had my daughter bird sitting for me, due to my large flock and her work and college schedule she would not have the time to do soft foods. I did have her give the Australian blend 2 to 3 of times a week or every other day along with their regular diet (seed and pellets) and some dried egg foods.... the birds did great! I spoke to the people at Goldenfeast about providing them enough of a variety while I was gone, the Australian blend is loaded full of wonderful things the bird love.... smells wonderful too!!!
