So I have put my male zebra finch in a bigger cage and my water dispenser cant fit the new cage , so i have put water in a food cup and I saw him drinking from it a few times ...since he wasn't used to the water cup method he always got his tail wet or he jumped in and got really wet a few times he wasn't bathing but rather fell in by accident and started shivering after getting that wet ..
I've put a water dispenser somehow on the edge of the cage and he started drinking from it repeatedly like 10 times , he had that water dispenser for a long time tho xD is it possible that he just missed it or something?
Heres the picture of the water dispenser

Glad you figured it all out.

Sometimes when they've been used to having a certain dish or water dispenser for a long time, it takes them a while to get used to something new.

Poor guy, falling into the water dish ... #-o

Yup once they are used to something, best not to change if you can help it.

In my case, I even get all the water tubes with the same color bottom, blue. So when I move them between cages, like for breeding, they know where the water is.

But of course, now I can't seem to find water tubes with blue bottoms.
And most on-line places won't let you choose the color, you get whatever they pick from the "assorted" colors.

My guys seem to have a preference for glass tubes over plastic ones. Has anyone else come across this?
