One last symptom....

Post by lnlovesorange » Fri Mar 25, 2016 6:23 pm

Just noticed one of my new gouldians is flitting her wings a lot... Not all the way open, but when she lands she lifts both a wings just a bit, almost like a twitch.... any thoughts?

Maybe they just need to be calm and settle. They are really lovely. Debbie and Elana have given you good advice. Mine is to bring on the salad bar, the egg food, and the soft pretty music. Mine like Secret Garden. Babs hypnotizes hers with some Bohemian sounding lovely stuff, she can pet my head too.
When mama relaxes so do the babies. Give them time. They are beautiful.

Are you treating the birds with anything...certain meds can have some side effects.

also check her over...under the wings see if she has broken any feathers or some are not laying correctly. Can be stress, you mentioned in your pm they we acting a bit shy in a bigger cage. Can she fly alright or is she a little clumsy like she is out of practice flying?

A change in cage size can cause that nervous twitch
