Rotting beak?

Post by Justino222 » Thu May 12, 2016 9:57 pm

Hello everyone, My pair of twinspots have acquired something that is making their beaks look deteriorated. They were over grown (I clipped them) and I realized that their beaks underneath and on the sides do not look good at all. If anyone has any info on how I can fix this, pleaseeee let me know.

I will be taking them to the vet soon.

the female cannot close her mouth, and the males beak is growing laterally. I did not buy them like this. I wonder if its genetics, but then why both at the same time.

Upon further inspection, it seems like the males beak is fine, just latterally over grown. Females beak is the bad one

Sometimes beak problems are the result of scaly face/leg mites. The vet can take a scraping to be sure.
