Merlin (the male that copies my whistle) is the only offspring from last year, November, who was stuck in a molt. His head remained juvie colored for about 10 months, his chest only partially molted When he finally started to molt just this October it was rough on him and he went completely bald. I piled on the boiled egg, added calcium and vitamin D to his water and a heat lamp. He looked so bad and tattered I thought he surely wasnt going to make it.
Then all at one time his pin feathers poked through the bad head. Poor guy was obviously not comfortable. When I thought he was finally through the worst of it, and that he might pull through, I snapped a shot about a week ago. The second shot is him finally in full color!

Now he's so full of himself he wont shuddap!

Now that he's Mr. Fancy-Pants, he sings constantly. He gets right up in my face and belts it out. I should be able to get a video of his song mimicking my whistle soon

She's my tame girl. He chases her around the flight like mad now. Thank goodness there are no nests in there. Shes like " Lemme Aloooooooooone!!!"
