Wobbly after crash landing

One of my societies had a crash landing on the floor of the cage when I startled her and now when she perches she is very wobbly and she seems to be unable to fly straight. She just tips foreward constantly when she's on a perch or the edge of a food bowl. I caught her and checked her out and there didn't seem to be anything wrong that I could see and she felt good enough to fly around the room and give me a few good pinches  what could be wrong??

It sounds like she may have injured her head in the fall. Give it some time, and she might be alright.

Thank you, should I put her in a smaller cage do you think with low perches?

It probably wouldn't hurt to put her in a smaller cage for now. I also like to give a bit of heat for any bird that is out of sorts, whether it is illness or just stress.

I don't really have anything to give heat exactly.. I tried to get a space heater and my mom/roommate said no because it would make the heating bill go up? Do you have any suggestions? If we have an electric heat pack maybe I could put that under a side of the cage?

Oh, I should have clarified on the heat. I'm not talking about a space heater or room heater, but instead, I mean a heat lamp. This can be as simple as putting a 60w bulb in a gooseneck desk lamp and aiming the light at one end of one perch, making sure that the bird also has the space to be able to move away from the heat lamp if it gets too warm.

She was able to perch on a swing and later made it to the best so I'm going to leave her where she is for the moment since she's snuggled up to her friend and seems comfortable. She was breathing a little heavily but is still alert and active.

She has mainly stayed in the nest since my last post. I have not seen her out at all but my mom said she did.

Right after I posted this I opened the cage door and she flew to the other side of the cave and no longer seems off balance =D>

Sand I just looked in the nest right after this one and it turns out the reason she isn't leaving it is because she has eggs

Hi Toby,

So the knock on the head made her lay eggs?

Just kidding.
I'm glad to hear that your girlie is doing better, and expecting babies as well.

I have had finches get their clock cleaned B4. I worry like a mother hen, but after a quiet spell ( a day or so) they are back at it. Your first time as a proud pappa?

Now just exercise patience, and allow the parents to do their thing.
