Sangre De Grado

Hello, I'm new to Finch Forum. I have a Gouldian with Bumblefoot. My friend suggested painting the herb, Sangre De Grado, on the Finch's foot, as he used it with success when treating Bumblefoot in Guinean pigs. Has anyone tried this and does anyone know if it's toxic to Gouldians. Thank you in advance for your help.

I personally have never tried it. Poor little bird!
Did you already remove the structures in the cage that caused his bumblefoot?

I have never heard of this herb, but here's a link of how to treat Gouldians with Bumblefoot. I hope it's helpful.

I'm waiting for new perches to arrive with varying size and shape. At the moment I have Ferplast perches wrapped in vetwrap but read yesterday about using something softer like kitchen towel. The vet said it would heal if I changed the perches but didn't advise washing the foot or putting anything on it. But I don't think this is good enough, on reflection, so will start washing foot and applying neosporin. I wondered about an anti biotic internally but hate giving that instead of supplements and immune boosters, such as echinacea and colloidal silver, so he's having these at the moment. I also found a Homeopathic remedy call Myristica which is specific for Bumblefoot. Do you think there is anything else I should do?

Thank you for the link to the Lady Gouldian article. I've just added Epsom salts to our daily regime!
