De-stress/hide-away box for the bullied finch

Well i wasn't sure whether to post this tidbit of information in 'housing' or 'health'...i opted for health because it dealt with the problem of an aggressive/bully finch and feather plucking.
I was at odd as to why a female gouldian of mine was being overly aggressive to my male and i suspected perhaps the on-coming breeding conditions my birds were played a part. I didnt want to separate them because i knew them to be bonded birds and it bothered me to break them up over a litttle in-house fighting.
They are currently housed in a breeding cabinet and so after some advice from a local breeder i impleted two changes.
First was to remove perching rods that were either too high or low this gave a little more room in the cabinet and allowed the birds to not be higher or lower than the other.
Second was to introduce a de-stress/hide-away box which allows for one bird to have a little escape and privacy from the other when things got too rough. I thought it was a brilliant idea and have built a few more for a flight cage i have [just in case]

this was the design given to me by the breeder with the advice, i just built a singular unit for the cabinet.
ANYWAYS: the end result was no more feather plucking, no more aggressive behaviour and now my finches are laying eggs...so i guess it made for a happy home
