Dear Experts,
I have 3 male gouldian birds out of which two of them slowly open their beak/mouth while breathing.Although they look normal but I identified when I took a closer look .They have lost their voice and one of them shakes slowly at times .What could be the issue ? Does the symptoms suggest mites? What to do ? They are eating normally but something is not right .
Thanks

This does sound like air sac mites. Hold each of your birds up to your ear and listen for a clicking noise when they breathe, as this is one of the hallmarks of air sac mites. Treat them with some S76, SCATT, or Ivermectin according to the instructions and hopefully they will be fine. Any other birds housed with them should also be treated.
If it isn't air sac mites, it could be Candida or Aspergillosis but both seem unlikely: Fungal Infections in Gouldians

Pick them up gently and hold up to your ear.
Listen to their breathing.
If you hear a tick-tick-tick sound, you are probably dealing with air-sac mites.
*Without treatment your birds will die.*
You need to buy SCATT from a Vet or on line, and use according to directions on the bottle.
*This needs to be done as soon as possible.*
Also place a lamp with a 40 or 60 w bulb over one corner of the cage. Your birds will be feeling very cold and this will keep them warm.
Offer shade on the other side of the cage.
MEDICATION NEEDS TO BE DONE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!

Hi Elana,
I have ordered Scatt and it will be available soon .S76 was not available in my place.Scatt instructions say I need to catch each bird and apply under thigh skin. This is little tough for me.Can I give it via water just like s76?Any suggestation is much appreciated.
