Birds doubled food intake

Post by sparrowsong98 » Mon Oct 02, 2017 8:57 am

I am perplexed. I fed my birds all summer on 1.5 pounds of feed, then switched the feed mix, and intake was doubled. In a month, my two birds went through a pound of seed. I am wondering though if they actually are the other mix though. I was feeding them a finch, canary, and parakeet food, but the seeds were a good bit biggebigger than the ones in this mix, and seemed more suited to bugies, so I gave them something else. Please help.
I currently own:
An Australian shepherd
Many chickens
4 goats
A cat
And a bunny

Pick through it and find out that they are eating the most.

They are possibly eating more because they enjoy it?

I go through 20lbs of finch seed a month.

That is not counting my parrot mix. #-o

Babs well I have 2. So not so much. It has raisins in it. I pick them out. I should right? It is like choc full of them too. The do not touch canary grass seed (seems they dont like it) but the eat all the dried stuff (it has some herbs)

Lots of raisins would reduce the weight of your seed after you pick them out for sure.
