Basically enough water to cover the seed, add Vicron s or any other sterilisation liquid to the water, literally just a drop, soak for 24 hrs, drain and give to the birds

Is a brilliant food source for when rearing,
When I'm breeding I exclusively use soak seed and live food for me waxbills and other Asiatic Estrildids
..........but soak seed can also be used at any time of the year and not just for when breeding, most finches will devour it

Took three years, but it looks like the light streak on Tacocat's tail feather might finally be gone. Either that, or he's been missing it for a few weeks. Each time he's moulted, it's become less obvious, so I do hope it's gone for good.

Re: White Streaks in Feathers
Update: tail feather grew back and still has grey streak. Wonder if the follicle was damaged at some point, or if it's something genetic.
