Basically enough water to cover the seed, add Vicron s or any other sterilisation liquid to the water, literally just a drop, soak for 24 hrs, drain and give to the birds

Is a brilliant food source for when rearing,

When I'm breeding I exclusively use soak seed and live food for me waxbills and other Asiatic Estrildids :-BD

..........but soak seed can also be used at any time of the year and not just for when breeding, most finches will devour it :D

Took three years, but it looks like the light streak on Tacocat's tail feather might finally be gone. Either that, or he's been missing it for a few weeks. Each time he's moulted, it's become less obvious, so I do hope it's gone for good.

Update: tail feather grew back and still has grey streak. Wonder if the follicle was damaged at some point, or if it's something genetic.
