I have noticed for quite awhile now that my Java finch has been sleeping a lot during the day, and I hear her eating at night. She seems to eat during the day and then sleep. Also her droppings have a lot of white in them. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Thank you for any replies.

wildbird I’m not sure about the sleeping part but with the poop I’m sure too much greens can cause this

the bird is a diurnal creature by excellence, it exploits its time to the maximum, it wakes up at the first light of dawn, and sleeps (if we can use this term) as late as possible, so a bird that sleeps often in broad daylight is a clear sign of a health problem
