Swollen belly

Post by Razasings » Mon Feb 12, 2018 6:04 pm

My greensinger started showing swollen belly and not that active anymore. any thoughts on what it might be nothing has changed with diet and I keep cage clean. Droppings look green but not runny.

I would recommend a trip to the Vet, if at all possible.

Here is an article which will explain different reasons for abdominal swelling.

My painted finch has a similar thing right now. I went to the vet and the diagnosis was some bacteria. Got Doxycycline now for a week (antibiotic) and a heat lamp in her hospital cage (it was rather cold the last days) and looks far better now. Gets back to the big flight tomorrow.

Fingers crossed for your bird!
